Frank C. Condella, Jr.

Interim Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Condella was elected to Columbia's Board of Directors in May 2009, was tapped in July 2009 to advise on the Company's strategic initiatives and named interim Chief Executive Officer in December 2009.  He currently serves on the board of directors at SkyePharma plc as chairman-elect and as a director on the board of directors at Fulcrum Pharma plc.  Mr. Condella was chief executive officer of SkyePharma from March 2006 to September 2008, president of European Operations at IVAX Corporation from 2002 to February 2006, and president and chief executive officer of Faulding Pharmaceutical Co. from 2000 to 2001.  Previously he was vice president of Specialty Care Products at Hoffman-La Roche and vice president and general manager of the Lederle unit of American Home Products.  Mr. Condella holds a B.S. in Pharmacy and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University. 

Robert S. Mills

President and  Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Mills joined Columbia in May 2001 as senior vice president, operations. He was named chief operating officer in September 2003, at which time he assumed full responsibility for R&D, including the preterm study. In January 2006, Mr. Mills was appointed president and was elected to the Company’s Board of Directors. He served as Chief Executive Officer from March 2006 until December 2009.  Prior to joining Columbia, Mr. Mills was Senior Vice President, Manufacturing Operations, at Watson Pharmaceuticals.  During his 30-year career in the pharmaceutical industry he also served as Vice President, Operations, at Alpharma, Inc., and held various positions with Aventis, SA, including Director-Plant Operations. Mr. Mills holds a B.S. from Grove City College. 

Lawrence A. Gyenes

Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Mr. Gyenes joined Columbia as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in July 2009. Previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Acusphere, Inc., a former NASDAQ-listed specialty pharmaceutical company. Prior to joining Acusphere, Mr. Gyenes was Chief Financial Officer of Zila, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed oral cancer screening company, a consultant to investment management firms, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed specialty pharmaceutical company. He also held senior financial positions with Reliant Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Rand McNally & Co., CompuServe Corporation, Helene Curtis, Inc., and G.D. Searle & Co. and was a consultant to DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company in its sale to Bristol-Myers Squibb. Mr. Gyenes holds an MBA degree from the University of Chicago and a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois.

Michael McGrane

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Mr. McGrane served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary since January 2002 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in January 2006. He joined Columbia from The Liposome Company, Inc., a biotechnology company, where he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, prior to which he was Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary to Novartis Consumer Health, Inc. Previously, Mr. McGrane held various positions with Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, including Associate General Counsel, and was Regulatory Counsel to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Mr. McGrane received his J.D. degree from Georgetown University and his B.A. degree from Cornell College. He is a member of the New Jersey bar.

George W. Creasy M.D., FACOG

Vice President, Clinical Research and Development

Dr. Creasy joined Columbia Laboratories as Vice President, Clinical Research and Development in November 2003.  Before joining the Company, he was responsible for clinical development and management of reproductive health products in his more than 16 years with Johnson & Johnson.  He was a faculty member of Penn State's Hershey Medical Center prior to starting his pharmaceutical career.  A trained Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Creasy is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
